Pope's Brewing Company is the brain child of Wendy, Graham and Alex Pope, all of which were/are​ passionate home-brewers with a real love for all things ​boozy.

Seeing there was no independant brewery in Worcester the idea started in 2011 with the simple idea of bringing our style of beer to the local people. After many meetings (at the pub) we settled on the overall concept and set about finding a brewing system and premesis.

​

​After toying with the idea of a brew-pub, and even taking over an existing brewery. We finally found a great little industrial estate just down the road from the family home on Blackpole Industrial Estate, and, after much work converting the building from a machinists to the brewery (I can never look at white emulsion the same again) we turned it into the little beauty of a brewery it is today.

​

The brewing equipment itself we sourced from the legendary Kinver Brewery (Thank you Dave and Ian!) who were more than helpful in getting us to the position we are in today. After a learning how their kit went together and where to hit if it all goes wrong we were ready to finalise our recipe concepts and get brewing!

 

Unknown to most, Worcester has a strong brewing heritage emphasised by the Hop Market situated in the city center. It is for this reason we decided to use the local area and history as inspiration for our beers.

 

We currently have 4 beers in our portfolio, details of which can be found by clicking on the BEERS tab, this will increase to around 6 core ales in due course. Also keep em peeled for monthly, seasonal and one off special ales available from the Brewery as well as the more traditional means.

It's been a great experience so far and were only a couple of months in and would like to say a HUGE thank you to everyone who has helped us so far! I literally cannot wait for the next few years to see in which direction the company goes, the characters we will meet along the way and what awesome beers will be produced in our little brewery.
